CARLISLE CITY PROMOTED TO NORTH WEST COUNTIES LEAGUE

Northern Alliance Newcastle Building Society Premier Division side Carlisle City delighted to report that the FA have today confirmed their promotion to the North West Counties league with effect from the 2016/17 season.

After 40 enjoyable years in the Northern Football Alliance, City now look forward to the new challenge along with 21 other clubs in Division 1 of the NW Counties league. Teams in this division are based throughout the North West with Holker Old Boys providing the “local derby” opposition.

Chairman Brian Hall said “Since moving to Gillford Park in June last year, we have set our sights on this target. Work is continuously ongoing to improve and grow our club. We look forward to welcoming supporters new and old to our ground next season”.

Blyth Town have also been promoted into the Second Division of the Northern League for 2016/17.
