Gateshead A stretch winning run

The games - and the wins - keep coming thick and fast for Gateshead A.

The International Stadium youngsters stretched their lead at the top of the Bluefin Sports Insurance Second Division to 19 points with a goal in each half from Joe Hailes and Nick Cassidy in their win over bottom side Whitley Bay Boys Club Seniors.

The talented and promising players also top the Football Conference Youth Alliance Division One, where they've won 13, drawn one and lost one as Gateshead's U19 side.

They are playing around three competitive matches a week as they get a top football education from boss Micky Cummins, who starred at Boro, Port Vale, Darlington, Rotherham, Grimsby and Gateshead as well as appearing in the Republic of Ireland U21s.
